Daniel Thomas - Delighted in Isolation

This is essentially one continuous piece divided up into individual tracks... each segment possessing a Hafler Trio twilight. A beautiful occultist origami of time spans groaning with oscillatory majestics, rifling deep into your psyche with a chemistry of grainy concretes, tectonic shifts, and funnelling hypnotics… A glimpse into the void, eking at the fact that we're possibly not alone… Starting with a gravel mouthed spectre and sci-fi scoring … then favouring foetal heart strokes bound in vibrating fizz. Muted blizzards of shortwave hovering out on a feedback gyro of tumberfoiled heavy absorption and glorious demolition. The dramatic tensions thrown to treadmill drones, the folding fabrication a hue changing chameleon, stapled and stitched to some misty alien dawn…

This metamorphosis is difficult to describe, the tracks just seem to melt into each other with a minimalist grace. Hard granite shadows appear through the diffusion, a sense of something manifesting in the near distance… in a whirl of ribbons and diluted colours 'Lilith' like, lingering in the mind’s eye, all oscillation racked…. fluctuating fluidity … a mirage of key drones, and drugged up evolutions...

There’s a real radiant smouldering falling through this, mind flurries of some torch lit sanctum, as Munch like reverberations echo from hand held head... Drizzled glass come downs… piercing turns of fortune…. By the sixth movement it’s weather worn… splashes bubbling, a transistical blur of soft metallics and plate like curves. A vastness of meditative concretes, hum rattling and brush washed, appearing from underneath the pan-sonic pulse and sustained goo… Some hallucinatory milk bottling factory chime, let over to a bow caught drone…

Later, the pulse quickens to a flickering vibe eaten up with swarming locusts…. A groove retracting, narrowing on propelled instabilities whilst a propane gasp rips in slow motion, all fibrously modular, full of suggestion and possible destinations...

...Departing on a ten minute breaking dawn lustre, replete with silky transphonics and glowing sentinels beautifully etched in cross wind razor and drone zither moan… There’s certainly a lot to absorb in one sitting and I have a feeling I’ve only scratched the surface
